Arthur Meade
was a landscape artist who lived in London And Cornwall at different times, many of his scenes are of the West Country. In 1901 he was living in St. Ives, Cornwall, with his wife Mabel.
Arthur Meade
enjoyed considerable success at the Royal Academy from 1894 to 1901, he had twenty-two works accepted by the Royal Academy, in some years he had as many as five works hung.
A Dorset Farmyard was purchased by the Mackelvie Trust Collection, Auckland Art Gallery from the Royal Academy in 1899 reviewer commented, "The Dorset Farm" won the admiration of all by its clever truthfulness and brightness. Joseph Damer, later Lord Milton, was the creator of Milton Abbos.
