Joseph Morris Henderson
was born in Glasgow in 1864 and he also died in his home town of Glasgow in 1936. He was a painter of oils and watercolour, mostly landscapes and coastal scenes.
Joseph Morris Henderson
was the son of Joseph Henderson and the brother of John Henderson. He was educated at Glasgow University and the Glasgow School of Art, also learning much from his father. He was influenced by his father’s later style and favourite compositions.
A piece of work named “Summer Clouds “ was his diploma work in 1935. His chief pleasure was in flowery foregrounds and weekend watersides, pale blue streams rippling over white pebbles and of hay fields in the distance or softly swelling country under bright skies.
Joseph Morris Henderson
was closely associated with the Glasgow Art Club and a member of the Committee of Management, Paisley Art Institute.
Joseph Morris Henderson
was elected ARSA in 1928 and RSA in 1935. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in London from 1892 onwards.
